AND THE MATERIAL FILED having been read;
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
The motions for leave to intervene of the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, Charter Committee on Poverty Issues, Poverty and Human Rights Centre and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund, the Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada, the Association canadienne-française de l'Alberta and the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights are granted. The interveners, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, the Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada, the Association canadienne-française de l'Alberta and the David Asper Centre for Constitutional Rights shall each be entitled to serve and file a factum not to exceed 10 pages in length on or before March 30, 2010. The interveners, the Council of Canadians with Disabilities, Charter Committee on Poverty Issues, Poverty and Human Rights Centre and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund shall be entitled to serve and file a single joint factum not to exceed 10 pages in length on or before March 30, 2010.
The requests to present oral argument are deferred to a date following receipt and consideration of the written arguments of the parties and the interveners.
The interveners shall not be entitled to raise new issues or to adduce further evidence or otherwise to supplement the record of the parties.
Pursuant to Rule 59(1)(a) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Canada, the interveners shall pay to the appellant and respondent any additional disbursements occasioned to the appellant and respondent by their intervention.
