Decision on the bill of costs, taxed in the amount of $1,760.33, Reg, The Supreme Court dismissed the application for leave to appeal with costs on March 27, 2003. The Applicant filed objections to the bill of costs of the Respondent, Louise Comeau, in her capacity as syndic of the Barreau du Québec. Having considered all the disputed items, I accept in part the dispute respecting disbursements. The parties have an obligation to minimize costs. The Respondent's memorandum includes two documents already included in the Applicant's memorandum, for a total of 31 pages of duplication for which the disbursements are struck out. I confirm the other items in the bill of costs, which are in accordance with the Tariff of Fees and Disbursements To Be Taxed Between Parties in the Supreme Court of Canada and established practice. The costs are taxed accordingly in the attached document. Allowed in part, no order as to costs |
