The United States of America seeks to extradite Sean Patrick Finn to stand trial on charges of fraud. The Minister of Justice issued an authority to proceed pursuant to the Extradition Act, S.C. 1999, c. 18. The B.C. Supreme Court ordered Mr. Finn’s committal into custody to await a surrender decision. The Minister ordered Mr. Finn’s surrender, which order was affirmed on reconsideration. The B.C. Court of Appeal dismissed Mr. Finn’s application for judicial review, concluding the Minister’s reconsideration decision to uphold the surrender order was reasonable.
