Xiaoling Ren, a shareholder in Eastern Platinum Limited, alleges its directors, former directors and former Chief Executive Officer were negligent and breached fiduciary duties by authorizing impugned transactions related to mining operations in South Africa. She petitioned for leave to commence a derivative action in the name of Eastern Platinum Limited. The Supreme Court of British Columbia granted the application in part. The Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal.
