Summary

Case summaries are prepared by the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada (Law Branch). Please note that summaries are not provided to the Judges of the Court. They are placed on the Court file and website for information purposes only.

Ms. Majcen and Mr. Nelson entered into a casual relationship and had a child. The Ontario Court of Justice awarded the child’s residency and sole decision-making to Mr. Nelson, parenting times and child support to Ms. Majcen, and costs to Mr. Nelson. The Superior Court of Justice altered child support but otherwise dismissed Ms. Majcen’s appeal. Ms. Majcen commenced proceedings before the Court of Appeal for Ontario but failed to perfect her appeal in time. She applied for an extension of time but the application was dismissed. A panel of the Court of Appeal dismissed an application for review of the denial of an extension of time.
