In 2017, Mr. Parikh was issued a traffic ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. He pleaded guilty and then applied for leave to appeal to the Court of Appeal of Alberta. Crown counsel consented to withdrawal of the plea to permit trial. Mr. Parikh abandoned the application for leave to appeal. Crown counsel withdrew the ticket before trial. In 2024, Mr. Parikh filed an application seeking to resurrect his application for leave to appeal. The Court of Appeal dismissed the application.
