| 1995-04-03 |
Decision on the motion for leave to intervene, McL, It is well established that in order to grant leave to intervene, there must be material indicating that the applicant has a unique and different perspective to offer on an issue or issues in the appeal, which will not be offered by the parties. It is also clear that leave to intervene is sparingly granted in criminal cases. The material before me on this application discloses no unique perspective which the applicant seeks to bring forward to assist the court. It appears that the true reason motivating the application is to revisit the applicant's own case, in which leave to appeal to this Court has been denied. It follows that the application to intervene must be dismissed. Dismissed, no order as to costs |
