Indeed, the issue of necessity and reliability required to trigger the admissibility of a third- party statement under the K.G.B. rule with be assessed in the light of whatever new circumstances will have been adduced before the trial judge, including the relationship of the ex- spouse with the police officer and the fact that she is no longer married to the accused.
