The applicant, T. Kofi Hadjor sought damages for injuries to his reputation and loss of business opportunity stemming from a fraud alert issued by the respondent, Monique Rollin, a police officer. The alert was then reproduced by the respondent, SooToday.com authored by the respondent, David Helwig.
Mr. Hadjor’s defamation action was dismissed following a trial by judge and jury in the Superior Court. The Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal.
