Summary

Case summaries are prepared by the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada (Law Branch). Please note that summaries are not provided to the Judges of the Court. They are placed on the Court file and website for information purposes only.

The applicant was involved in a dispute over the ownership of a condominium. The applicant’s court actions were dismissed, and she was declared a vexatious litigant by Neufeld J. The applicant filed an appeal of that decision. The appeal was stayed by the Registrar until the applicant removed new parties from the style of cause, which she eventually did. Then, the applicant failed to file her Appeal Record by the deadline and her appeal was struck. The Registrar informed the applicant that she must file a reinstatement application within six months, which she failed to do, and the appeal was deemed abandoned. Veldhuis J.A. dismissed the applicant’s application to restore the appeal. Her application for permission to appeal was also dismissed.
