A Canada Pension Plan/Employment Insurance officer ruled that amounts received by Mr. Rooke as a teaching assistant were insurable and pensionable employment earnings. The Minister of National Revenue upheld the ruling and the Tax Court of Canada dismissed an appeal. In separate proceedings, a Prothonotary of the Federal Court dismissed a motion for various relief including certification of an action as a class proceeding. A judge of the Federal Court dismissed an application for an extension of time to appeal and an appeal from the Prothonoary’s decision. The Federal Court of Appeal dismissed an application for extensions of time to appeal in these proceedings.
