(PUBLICATION BAN IN CASE)

In 2020, J.D.C.’s daughter alleged to her mother that J.D.C. had sexually abused her and she recorded a video statement describing sexual offences commencing in 2010, when she was about 5 years old, and continuing until 2015. The complainant adopted the video-taped statement in a voir dire and it was admitted into evidence. J.D.C. was convicted of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and incest. The Court of Appeal allowed an appeal and ordered a new trial.
