Summary

Case summaries are prepared by the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of Canada (Law Branch). Please note that summaries are not provided to the Judges of the Court. They are placed on the Court file and website for information purposes only.

The applicant’s statement of claim alleges that the Prime Minister and the RCMP are liable for failing to protect her from workplace harassment that she experienced in or around 1999 while working as a nurse at a hospital. The Federal Court struck out the applicant’s statement of claim, without leave to amend, on the basis that it does not disclose a cause of action and is frivolous, vexatious, and abusive. Bell J. dismissed the applicant’s motion for an extension of time to appeal. The Federal Court of Appeal dismissed the applicant’s appeal.
