(PUBLICATION BAN IN CASE) (SEALING ORDER)
In 2021, respondent Jeffrey Reimer was convicted of sexual assault with a weapon, unlawful confinement, and extortion. Mr. Reimer appealed the convictions.
The Court of Appeal for Ontario set aside Mr. Reimer’s convictions and ordered a new trial. The applicant, His Majesty the King, then brought a motion seeking a publication ban relating to the Court of Appeal’s decision. The motion was dismissed. On further motion, the Court of Appeal partially stayed its earlier motion decision.
