Ms. Wu commenced an action seeking damages. Mr. Ma was ordered, after settlement of the judgment, to pay an amount of $1,239,718.22 in damages. He also had an order for ordinary costs made against him. Counsel for Ms. Wu estimates the value of the costs award at $125,340. Groberman J.A. ordered security for the trial costs in the amount of $125,340. Groberman J.A. dismissed an application to post security for the damages awarded at trial. The Court of Appeal dismissed the application to vary the security for trial costs order.
