The applicant is a corporation that had filed originating applications against the various respondents. In the Superior Court of Québec, where the applicant was represented by counsel, the proceedings were dismissed. The applicant filed a notice of appeal signed by its director, who is not a lawyer. After the respondents filed motions to dismiss the appeal, its new lawyer filed a motion to extend the appeal period to allow it to file a new notice of appeal. The Court of Appeal dismissed the motion to extend the appeal period and it granted the motion to dismiss the appeal.
