The United States Securities and Exchange Commission obtained a default judgment against Mr. Sharp in a Massachusetts court. The judgment requires him to repay the profits of an alleged securities fraud scheme, approximately $30 million (USD). The Commission commenced an enforcement action in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and applied for summary judgment. The Supreme Court of British Columbia granted judgment recognizing and enforcing the judgment of the Massachusetts court. The Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal.
